| The Los Paseos Bees July 9th 2006 |

| On the morning of Sunday July 9th an alert member spotted a cluster of bees in the pear tree near the front walkway of the property and immediately informed an adult. A beekeper was called out to remove the bees and he provided us with a wealth of information along with a very exciting an interesting afternoon. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Some bees did not want to leave the branch and had to be smoked out. The smoke is meant to imitate a forest fire which causes the bees to leave their hive for safety. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The bees were identified as Italian Honey Bees. They were collected in a bee box and taken to Bonfante Gardens where they will live, pollenate plants and produce honey! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
